Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 27, 2026

Fuse Interactive LLC ("Fuse," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Fuse mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Fuse, you agree to the practices described here.

If you have any questions, you can reach us at contact@fuseapp.co.

The short version. We collect what we need to run a dating app — your profile, photos, location, and messages — and we don't sell it. Your photos are scanned for explicit content using a mix of on-device technology (when available on your phone) and a third-party moderation service (AWS). When something looks borderline, a real person at Fuse reviews it. We retain your information for as long as your account is active, with specific retention windows after deletion explained below. Read on for the details.

1. Who We Are

Fuse Interactive LLC is the data controller for the information collected through the Fuse app and related websites. We are based in the United States.

Fuse is currently available only to users in the United States. We do not knowingly serve users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or Canada at this time. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please do not provide us with personal information.

2. Where This Privacy Policy Applies

This Privacy Policy applies to:

It does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them.

3. Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

Information Collected Automatically

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your device's contact list, government identification, or payment information at this time. We do not collect your phone number or social-media handles as part of profile creation; we collect them only if you voluntarily share them through the in-app contact-share flow described above. If we add features in the future that require additional categories of information, we will update this Policy and notify you.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

5. How We Share Your Information

With Other Users

The information you choose to put on your Fuse profile (name, age, photos, bio, school, job, interests, etc.) is visible to other users when they encounter your profile. Messages you send are visible to the recipient. Your real-time location is not shared with other users — only approximate distance is shown.

With Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to operate Fuse. These providers process your information on our behalf, only for the purposes described below, and are contractually bound to safeguard it.

Provider What it does What it sees
Supabase Database, authentication, file storage, and real-time messaging infrastructure. Hosted in the United States. All profile, message, and account data — Supabase is the backbone of our service.
Expo Push-notification delivery and app build infrastructure. Push tokens and notification payloads (e.g. "you have a new match").
Apple, Inc. On-device sensitive-content analysis via the iOS Sensitive Content Analysis framework (when enabled on your device). Photos are analyzed entirely on your phone and do not leave your device for this analysis.
Amazon Web Services (Rekognition) Server-side photo moderation when on-device analysis is unavailable. See Section 6. A resized copy of each uploaded photo is sent to AWS Rekognition for moderation. AWS does not retain the image after analysis.
Discord Internal moderation review channel. When a photo is flagged for human review, our system posts a notification to a private Discord channel monitored by Fuse staff. Your name, age, account ID, and the photo URLs are transmitted to Discord for the duration of the review. Discord may retain these messages on its servers until we delete them.

For Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose your information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to:

In Connection with a Business Transaction

If Fuse is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, restructuring, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (by email and/or a notice in the app) before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

What We Don't Do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not allow advertisers to target you on Fuse using your personal information.

6. Photo Moderation and Automated Decision-Making

Fuse uses automated systems to help moderate photos uploaded to the App. This is to keep Fuse safe and to comply with App Store policies on user-generated content. Here is how it works:

How Photos Are Reviewed

  1. On-device analysis (when available). If you use Fuse on iOS 17 or later and have enabled "Sensitive Content Warning" in your iPhone settings, your photo is first analyzed on your phone using Apple's Sensitive Content Analysis framework. The photo never leaves your device for this step.
  2. Server-side analysis (when on-device is unavailable). If on-device analysis isn't available — for example, on Android, on older iPhones, or if you haven't enabled the iOS Sensitive Content Warning — a resized copy of your photo is sent to AWS Rekognition (Amazon's image-analysis service) for moderation. AWS does not retain the image after analysis.
  3. Human review for edge cases. If the automated systems are uncertain whether a photo is appropriate, the photo is queued for review by Fuse staff. We are notified through a private Discord channel (see Section 5) and review the photo manually.

What the Automated Systems Decide

The systems classify each photo as:

Your Right to Human Review

If you believe an automated decision was wrong — for example, your photo was rejected and you disagree, or your account was suspended — you can request a human review by emailing appeals@fuseapp.co. We will respond within a reasonable time and explain our decision.

7. Face and Biometric Information

Photos you upload to Fuse contain faces. The automated moderation systems described in Section 6 analyze these photos to determine whether the content is appropriate. As part of that analysis:

If you live in a state with specific biometric privacy laws (for example, Illinois under BIPA or Texas under CUBI), the processing described above is performed for the limited purpose of content moderation and is not retained beyond what is necessary to make the moderation decision.

8. How Long We Retain Your Information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for the periods described below after closure or other events.

Type of information Retention period
Active account profile and content While your account is active
Account after voluntary deletion Profile and photos are deleted within 30 days; basic account records may be retained for an additional 3 months for safety and abuse-prevention purposes
Account after permanent suspension Identifiers (e.g. account ID, email hash) retained for up to 1 year to prevent the user from creating a new account
Photos rejected at upload by automated moderation Not retained — these photos are never stored on our servers
Photos in pending review Retained until human review is complete (typically less than a few days)
Photos passed to AWS Rekognition for moderation Not retained by AWS after the analysis call completes (per AWS's service terms)
Contact information voluntarily shared via the contact-share flow (phone number, Instagram handle, Snapchat handle) Retained while either user's account is active, then deleted under the same schedule as account-level data above
Server logs and technical records 90 days unless retained longer for security investigations or legal obligations
Records related to legal claims, investigations, or law-enforcement requests For as long as needed to resolve the matter

Photos uploaded to your profile are stored in Supabase Storage and are accessible via public URLs while your account is active. This is necessary so other users can see your profile photos when matched with you. If you delete a photo or your account, the file is removed from active storage according to the schedule above.

9. How We Store and Secure Your Information

Your information is stored on servers operated by Supabase in the United States. We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, and authentication safeguards.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

California "Shine the Light"

California residents may request information about our disclosures of personal information to third parties for direct-marketing purposes. We do not currently disclose personal information to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes, so we have nothing to disclose under this section.

12. Children's Privacy

Fuse is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a user under 18 is on Fuse, please contact us at contact@fuseapp.co or use the in-app reporting tools.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email, in the App, or by another reasonable means before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of Fuse after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
